Los Angeles Team Secures Dismissal on Behalf of City of Industry

Daniel Solitro (Los Angeles) secured a dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the “Concerned Citizens of City of Industry” against the City of Industry, California, its mayor and council members. The Court previously found plaintiff was not an unincorporated association of “concerned citizens” as it had represented, but a Fresno limited liability company connected with purported solar farm developers and their attorney involved in efforts to stop the City Council's reforms and management of City resources. The Court dismissed the final claim in the lawsuit, finding, as a limited-liability company that does not pay taxes to the city, “Concerned Citizens” lacked standing to maintain a lawsuit against the City and its officials under Section 526a of California's Code of Civil Procedure. Previously, the Court dismissed all other claims against the City, its mayor and council members.
