Locke Lord Partner Ernesto Palomo Elected to the Board of Directors of The Chicago Committee

May 19, 2015 – Locke Lord Chicago Partner Ernesto Palomo has been elected to the Board of Directors of The Chicago Committee. In this role, Palomo will work with leaders at other large law firms to further the organization’s mission of promoting the recruitment, hiring, retention and elevation of minority lawyers.

Palomo is a Partner in Locke Lord's Business Litigation and Arbitration group and is the Co-Chair of the Firm’s Diversity Committee. He has extensive experience representing large multinational companies in court and commercial arbitration proceedings and in a wide variety of complex business disputes. He counsels clients on issues of insurance and reinsurance coverage and has handled disputes in both the life reinsurance and property and casualty reinsurance and direct insurance markets.

Dedicated to civic involvement, Palomo serves on the Indiana Special Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, which provides recommendations about civil rights issues of state and national concern related to race, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, voting rights or the administration of justice. He was selected for the 2014 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, a mentoring program built to increase diversity at the leadership levels of law firms and corporate legal departments. In addition, Palomo undertakes considerable pro bono work through the National Immigrant Justice Center, the Center for Disability and Elder Law, and the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
