Locke Lord Chicago’s Paige Waters and Stephanie O’Neill Macro Interviewed by ALM ThinkAdvisor on Annuities Being in Play as Colorado Regulates Life Insurance Data

Locke Lord Chicago’s Paige Waters and Stephanie O’Neill Macro, both members of the Firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group, were interviewed for an article in ALM ThinkAdvisor discussing the effort that created Colorado’s new unfair discrimination regulation of life insurance technology likely expanding to annuities.

Waters and O’Neill Macro said, “the Colorado regulation will also do more to affect how insurers operate than other state efforts to address concerns about new forms of decision-support technology.”

On the future, Waters and O’Neill Macro added that Michael Conway, the Colorado insurance commissioner, “has already publicly stated that he anticipates that the regulation will be expanded to include all lines of business.” Currently, they think “that affected life insurers have the information they need to begin to comply with the new requirements.”
