Augustinos noted: “The landscape is clearly changing for the insurance industry and its approach to cybersecurity, and the new regulation promulgated by the New York Department of Financial Services will have far-reaching implications… The regulation is both broader and more specific than existing cybersecurity requirements, and covered entities will need to take action to comply, or to claim an exemption.”
