Brandon N. Mitchell

Brandon Mitchell focuses his practice on insurance regulatory & transactional matters. He has measured experience in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures and reinsurance.

Prior to joining the Firm, Brandon was Corporate Secretary & Associate General Counsel for Aspida which specializes in annuity and life insurance products. He worked closely with the board as well as all lines of business and company departments.

Previously, Brandon was a member of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company’s legal team, where he concentrated on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital markets transactions. He was also a member of Nationwide’s Legal Diversity & Inclusion Council, where he served as Treasurer and Relationship Manager to the National Bar Association.

Brandon’s legal career began at Nationwide as a participant in Nationwide’s Legal Rotational Program. In this role, he gained exposure to the entire Nationwide Enterprise by rotating through various corporate, property and casualty and financial services legal and compliance teams. Brandon entered the Legal Rotational Program after interning at Nationwide during law school.

Brandon is an active leader in the community. Brandon is a former member of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees, where he served as the Graduate/Professional Student Member. He was also chosen as a Fellow for the United Way African-American Leadership Academy and a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder.
