Mark Freel will present "Legalization of Marijuana in Rhode Island: New Challenges for Employers" at the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association Exhibit and Show: Connect, Grow, Develop on November 16 at 4:00pm ET.

In 2022, the State of Rhode Island became the 19th state to legalize the use and sale of marijuana. This is in addition to the previous availability of medical marijuana. Legal marijuana is expected to be available by the end of the year. The availability of legalized marijuana will present unique challenges for employers managing a workplace environment, especially where safety issues are present. We will discuss the impact of the new law, best practices for employers, and the current status of testing capabilities and procedures.
