Locke Lord’s David Patton and Bill Swanstrom Named to Houston Business Journal’s ‘Who’s Who in Energy’ List for Third Time

(HOUSTON) December 13, 2016 – Houston Partners David Patton and Bill Swanstrom, who serve as Co-Chairs of the Firm’s international Energy Practice Group, have been named to the Houston Business Journal’s 2016 Who's Who in Energy list. This is the third appearance for both Patton and Swanstrom on the list, which recognizes “movers and shakers” for their influence in the legal sector of the energy industry.

The Firm, which is well-known and recognized for its Energy practice, has consistently seen Energy Partners land on this Who’s Who list. Houston Partner Terry Radney has also appeared on the Who’s Who list.

Patton has nearly 40 years of experience in the energy industry and extensive experience in many areas of the oil and gas industry, including acquisitions and sales of assets or equity interests, drafting and negotiating leases, contracts and agreements related to field operations. He has represented clients in connection with surface use conflicts, day to day exploration and development activities and the resolution of oil and gas disputes. Patton is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America for Oil & Gas Law.

Swanstrom, also a Vice Chair of Locke Lord, has more than 28 years of experience working with energy companies in their significant acquisition, divestiture, project development and finance activities. He also has substantial experience in energy private equity transactions, representing both investors and companies. Swanstrom is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America for Energy Law.
