Ted Augustinos, a member of the steering committee of Locke Lord’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group and Managing Partner of the Firm’s Hartford office, was quoted in an article on the issues insurance companies, banks and other financial services institutions are potentially dealing with as the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) set of cybersecurity rules deadline is quickly approaching. Augustinos said, “There will be a lot of judgment calls there, and I don't really see DFS second-guessing those kinds of judgment calls. I think they will have far more attractive enforcement options, instead of arguing with companies about whether they should have kept data for seven years instead of six.”
