Hartford Office Managing Partner Ted Augustinos, a member of the steering committee of Locke Lord’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group, was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article examining the potential for an update of proposed rules under the California Consumer Privacy Act to aid business and service providers in the ad tech industry. The rules, if adopted in their current form, would let service providers use consumer data for limited, internal purposes, noted Augustinos. He continued, “Without compromising the privacy rights of consumers, this change will improve services and efficiency for many businesses and service providers.”
