Houston Partner Ben Cowan, a member of the Firm’s Environmental Section, was quoted by The Associated Press on the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s reinstatement of Nationwide Permit 12 for pipelines other than the controversial Keystone XL pipeline. While the AP reports the reinstated permit can now be used to allow more than 70 other projects to proceed, Cowan observed this may come “too little too late” for oil and gas companies that have already made costly changes in response to the permit’s suspension or even canceled projects entirely.
