Jon Turpin focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, primarily on pharmaceutical patent actions under the Hatch-Waxman Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. He represents pharmaceutical companies in all aspects of federal intellectual property litigation, including Paragraph IV Certifications, fact and expert discovery, invalidity and noninfringement contentions, claim construction, motion practice and trial.

He represents pharmaceutical companies in all aspects of federal intellectual property litigation, including Paragraph IV Certifications, fact and expert discovery, invalidity and noninfringement contentions, claim construction, motion practice and trial.

Prior to joining Locke Lord, Jon worked as an associate at a boutique commercial litigation firm in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he represented Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, business owners and insurers in a wide range of business litigation matters, including fiduciary liability, partnership disputes and contract disputes in both federal and state courts. He also has experience representing attorneys and other professionals in malpractice, ethics and licensing matters.

While in law school, Jon interned for Judge Tanya Walton Pratt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Jon's representative experience includes:

  • Represented generic drug manufacturer at a federal bench trial in paragraph IV Hatch-Waxman patent infringement litigation concerning one patent related to a treatment for multiple sclerosis (Tecfidera®)
  • Represented generic drug manufacturer at a federal bench trial in paragraph IV Hatch-‎Waxman patent infringement litigation concerning five patents related ‎to an oral formulation for the treatment of depression (Trintellix®)
  • Represented generic drug manufacturer at a federal bench trial in paragraph IV Hatch-Waxman patent infringement litigation concerning one patent related to a treatment for multiple sclerosis (Myrbetriq®)
