Laura Wilkinson has been with the Firm since working as a summer associate in 1984. She now is Associate General Counsel at Locke Lord, in this role since January 2006. Her main focus is advising the Firm’s attorneys on complicated ethical and professional issues. Prior to the merger with Locke Lord, Laura was instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Firm’s annual ethics seminars that are presented to over 450 lawyers in the Firm's United States' offices as well as to corporate in-house counsel.
Prior to her current position, Laura was a Partner in the securities practice group of the Firm’s Business Law Department. As part of this practice, Laura represented public companies in cutting edge debt and equity financing transactions, as well as advising on reporting and corporate governance issues. She also worked with members of the Firm’s Business Law and Private Equity groups to advise smaller, private companies in their issuances of securities.
Laura serves on the Firm’s Professional Responsibility Committee, is a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, and has served on the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Ethics Committee.
